RAAS Haveli: Jodhpur
Beautiful RAAS Haveli is the first boutique hotel to open its doors within the walled city of Jodhpur. This luxury hotel sits almost directly below the 15th century Mehrangarh Fort, the star attraction in India’s Blue City, and commands magnificent views from nearly all the bedrooms.
The hotel combines a traditional 18th-century haveli with modern-day comforts. What were once stables are today cosy, cushion-lined seating areas, a 19th-century pleasure pavilion is today the poolside restaurant and the 300-year-old women’s purdah quarter is where you’ll find the spa.
There are 39 bedrooms divided into Garden Rooms, Luxury Rooms and Suites. We say splash out and treat yourself to one of the four suites. Housed on the top floor in a fort-facing cornflower blue cube, these duplex rooms enjoy a kingsize bed and even a bathtub with a view. Perfect for that romantic weekend away.
If you do decide to leave the hotel then make the most of the complimentary tour of the old city. Wander the winding narrow lanes and pay a visit to the century-old clock tower before exploring the mighty Mehrangarh fort itself. Travel during October and you can take part in the RIFF, the Rajasthan International Folk Festival, held within the walls of the fort. And when you’re ready to call it a day, you know that your hotel is not far very away.

Resort Capella Ubud: Ubud, Bali
Bali’s Ubud always has a romantic atmosphere. It’s the spiritual capital in the Island of the Gods where mindful travellers can explore ancient temples, eat the freshest buddha bowls or partake in a sunrise Vinyasa flow. To make the stay that much more romantic it’s best to book one of the luxury hotels in the area so that you and your loved one can feel extra pampered among the lush foliage.
Probably the most exceptional resort (among a lot of competition) is Capella Ubud’s glamping experience. Upon entering this jungle-chic resort you instantly feel the call of nature. Capella Ubud was designed by Bill Bensley who is well known for his quirky inspirations and as a champion of sustainability and conservation. The property therefore maximises preservation, some suites even have tree trunks in the middle of the room.
From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty with airport pickup, cool towels, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and more. The luxury tents add to the romanticism with wooden finishes, quirky vintage art, local designs and a large selection of premium liquor. And I have to mention their signature items, the gigantic throne-style toilet and the free-standing copper bathtub. Outside you have your own private salt-water plunge pool surrounded by the thickest foliage. By day you can dine at Mad’s Lounge and by night Api Jawa serves up the tastiest refined Japanese fusion barbecue omakase meals.
Take a day trip around the area through rice paddies and then have a couples treatment at the onsite Auriga Spa. Relax with your better half by the campfire in the evening and watch old silent Balinese movies while roasting a marshmallow. This is truly one of the most romantic accommodations for Valentine’s Day in Bali.

Mount View: Hakone
Things don’t get much more romantic than sharing a private hot tub while staring out to snow falling on a bamboo forest. That’s one of the opportunities on offer at Mount View Hakone, a ryokan in Hakone, Japan. There are single-sex public onsens available at the hotel, but the romantic option is to hire your own private outdoor tub for a relaxing 45-minute soak. And to add to treat, you could book a massage or aroma treatment in the hotel’s onsite spa.
Another highlight of Mount View Hakone is the food, which includes a mixture of western and Japanese cuisine, including dishes that you grill at your own table. And the rooms are classic ryokan style, offering a classic Japanese experience.
Hakone itself is a gorgeous place to visit. Visitors generally do what is called the Hakone Loop, following a trail that takes you around the whole area on a bus, train, pirate boat, ropeway and cable car. Mount View Hakone is about ¾ of the way around the loop, so a good place to break up your visit. Highlights of a visit here include catching sight of Mount Fuji, enjoying the world-class sculptures at the Hakone Open Air Museum and simply enjoying all the scenery. It was one of the most memorable parts of our 10 days in Japan.

Conrad Maldives: Rangali Island
Admiring the sunset from a dazzling white beach, crystal blue waters lapping at the sand with palm trees curved by the wind reaching out to the water … a description that almost everyone recalls from the postcard landscapes of the Maldives.
Thinking about Maldives as a romantic destination is almost obvious, but it is not guaranteed if you don’t choose carefully your accommodation. In the recent years the Maldives has become a much more accessible destination, and so the risk of being disappointed by an uninformed or hasty choice and not finding the paradise you dreamed of is real.
At Conrad Maldives Rangali Island you certainly don’t risk this. The Conrad resort consists of two islands connected together and offers a variety of different accommodation, restaurants, and activities. However, what makes it truly special and really romantic is that even when fully booked it is possible to find yourself walking on one of the beaches in complete solitude.
From the moment you arrive at the airport you begin to feel the exclusivity of the place. You are immediately escorted to the resort’s private lounge for a massage and a snack while waiting for the seaplane which will transfer you to your island paradise in half an hour.
Upon arrival, your personal host will accompany you to check in and to your villa. Whichever villa you choose you will not be disappointed, whether it is a villa on the beach or the dreamed of over water villa. Ask if it is possible to have a west facing villa so you can admire the sunset while relaxing in your private jacuzzi.
To complete your dream break, even if all the restaurants guarantee an unforgettable dining experience, don’t miss to treat your partner at the restaurant Ithaa, where you can admire colourful fish and baby sharks as in a aquarium while sipping a glass of wine, because it is completely underwater!

Aureum Palace Hotel & Resort: Bagan
Tucked away in the middle of the archaeological zone in the kingdom of Bagan you’ll find these unique and spacious villas of Aureum Palace. This incredible accommodation feature layouts with a one of a kind decor that reflects both Myanmar culture and a western-style fusion. Each villa has a living room, dining area and kitchenette.
If you notify the Aureum Palace Bagan ahead of time they’ll arrange for you to have the lakeside Villa, that way after you relax in the hot tub in your room, you can get in your robe, open the doors, and step out into a view you’ll never forget. In front of you, you’ll see ancient pagodas, hear the sounds of the birds and frogs, and experience a romantic moment unlike any other!
The entire facility includes an infinity pool the overlooks the pagodas, a 360-degree panoramic restaurant that has a nightly acoustic band, spa services, and an incredible breakfast buffet. We got engaged in Bagan and celebrated together for a weekend here and we couldn’t have asked for a more magical and beautiful experience! Waking up first thing in the morning and stepping out of your room you’ll be able to view the hundreds of hot air balloons that are filling the sky above the ancient city around you. If you’ve got the time and the money be sure to get on the balloon yourselves as it makes for a stunning and picturesque image!

Marina Bay Sands: Singapore
The epitome of luxury is the Marina Bay Sands in the beautiful city of Singapore. Having stayed three times in this hotel I can happily tell you it impresses every time.
The rooms are luxurious and have everything you need. I mean the curtains open automatically as you enter the room. The shopping mall that is attached, the casino and the famous restaurants all add extra luxurious elements to the entire precinct.
However, we all know most people go for the pool! This infinity pool located on the roof of the hotel, 57 floors above the ground, gives you the best view of the city of Singapore and the beautiful marina below. To get even more out of the pool ensure you try to check in early. Even if your room is not ready you will be given keys to access the pool. Therefore have your swimmers and togs organised because you can hit up the 57th floor pool as early as 10am in the morning. Often the pool at this time isn’t overly busy too allowing you to get the best seats for the day! This luxury travel hack for the Marina Bay Sands we use every time we visit.

Panviman Resort & Spa: Chiang Mai
Your own private jacuzzi on the balcony of your hotel room overlooking the northern mountains of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Romantic enough for you? We think so!
Panviman Resort and Spa is a stunning resort clinging to the edge of Chiang Mai’s Maerim District hillsides. Situated just a one hour drive from Chiang Mai city center and airport makes it an easy romantic getaway if you’re staying in the city.
The resorts’ USP are those private balcony jacuzzis but there are more romantic things to do here.
No matter where you are in the resort, you’ll be rewarded with uninterrupted vistas of the surrounding mountains and jungle. From the lobby, coffee shop, restaurant, breakfast room, swimming pool and even the gym, wherever you are with your loved one you can both enjoy the views together.
Panviman Resort has a large spa with highly trained masseuses ready to relax your muscles during a romantic couple’s massage. In the evenings, enjoy a candlelit dinner in the restaurant which serves some very tasty local cuisine. Some of the best we had in Thailand, in fact. Then head back to your private jacuzzi and enjoy a glass or two of wine to the nature sounds of night time Maerim.

Proud Phuket Hotel: Phuket
Proud Phuket Hotel in Thailand is definitely a romantic hotel you should stay in if planning a trip to Thailand with your loved one. Phuket is quite famous for its parties and nightlife. However, Proud Phuket hotel is located in the northern part of the island, which is very peaceful and calm, and perfect for the romantic gateway.
Just next to the hotel a beautiful sandy Nai Yang beach is. It is great for swimming in the turquoise sea, long romantic walks and watching some fantastic sunsets. It’s a part of the Sirinat National Park, and its beautiful nature just adds to its tranquillity.
Many rooms at the Proud Phuket Hotel have direct access to the semi-private swimming pool from their balconies. Could there be anything more romantic than starting a day with an in-pool breakfast? Or spending the evening in a swimming pool while watching the starry night? The hotel also offers numerous different massages and beauty treatments, you can enjoy as a couple. There is a lounge area around the main swimming pool with some romantic double pool chairs. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying this fantastic romantic hotel in Thailand.

Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa: Da Nang
Touch down on the second largest city of Vietnam “Da Nang” and you will realise a magical side of this part of the world. It is amazingly clean, well maintained and one on the most beautiful places in the entire South Asian region. Airports are thronged with Korean tourists looking for a respite from the extreme cold back home to the sun-kissed beaches and golf courses in Da Nang. The town has the best of ultra-luxurious resorts hosting corporate events and Destination Weddings.
Among these our personal favourite the Hyatt Regency Danang Resort & Spa.
Situated along the coast of Hoi An on white sandy Non Nuoc beach, it is a great place for Romantic vacations offering beach views including a gorgeous ocean-front pool. This is a beachfront hotel and regardless of which room you get, you have a picturesque view of the ocean. The use of light colours in the interiors and floor to ceiling glass doors helps to bring the natural sunlight directly into the room.
They have five pools, plus a water slide to relax with the occasional bad weather day. Ask for it and they can arrange an open sky under the stars candlelight dinner creating a picture-perfect set up to enhance your celebrations.
Those seeking a relaxing beach holiday will discover plenty of activities within the resort’s private and luxurious grounds.
