Luxury Travel HacksThe Marina Bay Sands

Luxury or Budget SIngapore - Marina Bay Sands
View from Marina Bay Sands

The Marina Bay Sands the epitome of luxury accommodation in Singapore. Everyone has heard of the pool, everyone has seen a picture of the pool, I even included a photo of the pool as the Pinterest photo for this post but it is not just the pool that makes this place luxurious. The fact when you put your key in for electricity in the room and your curtains automatically open, the fact the room amenities are incredible and the fact the staff go above and beyond for you also contributes to feeling like a rockstar when you stay. We arrived at 11:30am to drop our bags but were told they would try to find us a room and in doing so upgraded us for free to a city view room on level 45. The view in the picture above says it all. Considering the cost of the Marina Bay Sands checking in three hours early and accessing the exclusive pool was a bonus and a luxury I will never forget.

Do yourself a favour, if you are visiting Singapore shout yourself one night in Singapore’s number one hotel by booking Marina Bay Sands.

Where’s SharonHotel Fort Canning

This luxury accommodation in Singapore option is perfect – right in the centre of things in Singapore but it feels like a world away thanks to its location at Fort Canning – a lovely green space. In fact, it’s less than a ten minute walk away from a train station on three train lines while being surrounded by trees.

It’s a 5 star, boutique hotel and has the facilities you would expect – gorgeous pools, great restaurants and a historic location. What I particularly loved was the aperitif hour every evening which was complimentary. There’s drinks and snacks and we enjoyed getting to meet the other guests. We also loved that kids were welcome.

We stayed in a deluxe room (pictured) and I loved how the bathroom was a feature of the room – it was in front of the windows and exquisite. I am not usually someone to have a bath but it is compulsory in this hotel!

The Travel SistersPan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road

Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road is a great luxury choice accommodation in Singapore.  It’s not just a hotel though – it is a serviced apartment/hotel.  Basically, Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road offers hotel service with the bonus of extra amenities. Our suite included a washer and dryer as well as a fully equipped kitchen with a large refrigerator, microwave, cookware, utensils and other odds and ends.

Amenities include a fitness center, library, free wifi, concierge services and free continental breakfast every day except Sundays and public holidays.  The best amenity, however, is the outdoor infinity swimming pool.  With great views of the Singapore Flyer and city skyline, the spacious pool is an ideal spot to unwind.

In addition to the great amenities, Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road Singapore is conveniently located.  The hotel is next to Kampong Glam/Muslim Quarter, close to many restaurants and easy walking distance to two MRT stations.  A nearby retail and office complex with more restaurants, shops and a pharmacy also houses a 24 hour convenience store.

With such a convenient location plus great amenities, Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road is an easy choice when looking for a luxury hotel option in Singapore. Want to read the full review, here it is.

The Trusted TravellerSwissotel The Stamford

Places to Stay in Singapore

We stayed at the Swissotel The Stamford as a New Years splurge and had the most amazing stay. Our room was spacious and well appointed with luxurious bathrooms and heavenly toiletries. Within the hotel we had access to many facilities including a rooftop pool with views over the city and the added bonus of full access to the adjacent Raffles Hotel and Raffles City mall. Because it was New Years we decided to stay in a harbour view room with balcony so we could enjoy the midnight fireworks from the comfort of our room. It was an incredible view and experience, one we will never forget.

Once In A Lifetime JourneyCapella Sentosa

Places to Stay in Singapore

Although just twenty minutes from the city center, Capella Sentosa feels like a tropical island getaway. The heritage British army barracks has been transformed with the addition of the modern wing designed by the renowned firm Foster + Partners. The buildings combine old and new and the rooms are divine. Balconies facing the South China Sea with all the comforts of a luxury hotel and multi-level infinity pools with peacocks roaming freely. Did I mention the Sunday brunch is the most impressive there is in Singapore?

Once In A Lifetime Journey – The Raffles Hotel

The Raffles Hotel in Singapore is an institution. Opened over 125 years ago, it used to be located by the sea, before Singapore’s land reclaim efforts. The hotel is home to the famous Singapore Sling and a decadent afternoon tea. Raffles Hotel is a pilgrimage stop for almost any visitor to the city. It is grand, it is colonial and it is old-fashioned in a way that takes you back to the times when hotel stayed were only for the rich. Your own personal butler will fix you anything you need and the shopping arcade has anything for that special souvenir. You may not even have to leave its confines.

Luxury Travel Hacks – The Pod Boutique Hotel

In order to afford to stay in the Marina Bay Sands for one night, we stayed in The Pod Boutique Hotel for the three nights prior. This hotel essentially is a glorified hostel that I found unique and fun. Unlike a typical hostel where the beds are open and there is a lack of privacy, The Pod Boutique Hostel has curtains for every bed essentially meaning you are sleeping in a pod. There were options of a single pod with side entry, a single pod with front entry and the best aspect the queen pods. It was this idea that convinced my partner and I to stay at this hotel. Having a queen bed with privacy for the cost of a shared dorm had us sold. Unfortunately, we forgot to take photos of our Pod but this was a random photo I got looking down from our pod with our bags packed ready to leave. Don’t stress though because locked storage was available for your bags.

Located within the historic yet hip village quarter of Kampong Glam The Pod Boutique Hotel is a short stroll to the closest MRT station and situated in a great area to explore this incredible city. If we were heading back we would certainly stay there again as it was a great place to stay in Singapore.

Once We’re Young Travel – The InnCrowd Hostel

While Singapore is often best enjoyed by luxury seekers and business travelers, a budget backpacker can find their own little refuge at Singapore’s The InnCrowd Hostel. With both affordable dorm rooms and private rooms on offer, you can pick the room that best suits your budget, and still take full advantage of the facilities. As a guest, you’ll enjoy full kitchen access, super-clean accommodation, a hefty book collection, and a hostel pub serving inexpensive beer for those “why did we walk 13 miles” kinds of nights. On top of all that, it’s location right in the heart of Little India and accessibility to the rest of Singapore is unbeatable. All things considered, it’s one of the best budget accommodation options in Singapore!
