Imaj Private Villas are located in Batu Layar, Lombok an approximate 10-minute drive to Senggigi and 20-minute drive to the city of Mataram. Imaj contains four private villas and three suites. Each private villa has its own pool while the three suites have a lagoon pool to share. I have been lucky enough to stay at Imaj twice and experience two of the private villas and also have friends stay in a suite. The two villas I have been lucky enough to stay in are:
- Villa 1 – Batu Layar, 3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom, Sea and Sunset View
- Villa 3 – Kopi, 2 Storey, 3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom, Hill Top and Sunrise View.
The other villas and suites within the Imaj complex are:
- Villa 2 – Matahari, 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Sea and Sunset View.
- Villa 4 – Kasih Honeymoon, 2 Storey, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Hilltop & Seaview
- Suites – Shared Lagoon Pool, Hilltop and Sunrise View
Villa 1 – Batu Layar is known as their premier villa at Imaj Private Villas due to its views. It overlooks the hills towards Senggigi but more importantly has glorious ocean views towards the island of Bali. On a clear day, the largest volcano in Bali is also visible and it is absolutely stunning.
I stumbled across these villas on Scoopon Travel. It was there I purchased the Scoopon for $600AU which included 7 nights accommodation in three bedroom villa for six people….oh and breakfast daily. I used this Scoopon for the five of us travelling to Lombok. It, therefore, equated to be $17.15AU per person per night including breakfast, which is beyond cheap, right?
When staying with Imaj just recently as a returning customer (no Scoopon) I was offered Villa 1 – Batu Layer for approximately $1000AU. With six of us travelling this time it equated to $23.81AU per person per night including breakfast and again I can’t complain.
As the pictures show you are staying it utter luxury with your own pool. The villa itself is traditional in its styling with one main communal room which we rarely used due to always being around the pool. Off of this communal room are three bedrooms all with queen-sized beds, tvs, dvd players and their own bathroom. All bathrooms included a bath and shower, with one of the bathrooms actually having a spa bath. For me, the rooms and amenities were sufficient and simple. For this reason, I wouldn’t rate Imaj Private Villas as a five-star place to stay from the villa point of view but for me, personally, I couldn’t think of anything better.
In regards to service and breakfast, everything in Lombok runs on what is known as ‘Bali Time’ or should we say ‘Lombok Time’. For anyone not familiar, essentially if you ask for something i.e. extra towels or toilet paper it will come but it won’t necessarily come quickly. If something is urgent though, if you mention this it should hopefully quicker. Again this doesn’t phase me in the slightest because I feel this is the Indonesian culture.
In regards to the staff they are welcoming, friendly and forever trying to please you. Whether it be kind words as they set your table for breakfast or a smile as you walk by they are happy and lovely people. Imaj Private Villa’s staff and drivers will happily help you organise and plan day trips from the villa. Such trips could include snorkelling, surfing or seeing the waterfalls. They are also forever happy to drive you into Senggigi and recommend places to see, eat or shop.
I rate Imaj Private Villas as one of the best places I have ever stayed and would rate it a very strong 4.5 out of 5.
Imaj Private Villas has become my place of relaxation and somewhere I plan to visit regularly during my travel.
If you would like any further information or would like to leave feedback if you have stayed please do not hesitate to comment belo.
